Lonnie Antal

 We are very excited to welcome Lionel Chong as Edison Badminton Centre's new Head Coach. Lionel is a former Canadian collegiate champion who has been coaching in Edmonton for the past 15 years. His accomplishments include:

  • Three-time Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) "All Canadian" award winner
  • Gold medalist for men's doubles National Championship
  • Three-time "MVP" for College Nationals badminton team
  • Three-time "ALL STAR" award winner for Alberta Colleges Athletic Championships (ACAC)
  • MVP and Silver medalist in men's doubles for U18 Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN) games

Fiona McKee

Fiona McKee is an NCCP level 2 coach (progressing through level 3) with Shuttletime certification. Her previous experience includes coaching the 2015 Alberta Western Games, and her accomplishments include:

  • 2010 Pan-American mixed doubles champion
  • 2008 Pan-American ladies doubles champion
  • 2010 Senior National champion mixed coubles
  • 2008 Senior National champion ladies doubles
  • National champion U19 mixed doubles
  • National champion U23 mixed doubles

Billy Gilliland is a committed professional who has dedicated himself to the sport of badminton.  His long list of accomplishments include:

  • Canadian National Team and Olympic Coach 1987 - 1999
  • World's #1 Ranked Mixed Doubles Player 1985 - 1987
  • Commonwealth Gold Medalist 1986
  • All England Champion 1985
  • Winner of 44 International Open Championships
